Maltese-British designer, Jonathan Mizzi, qualified as an architect at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL where he was awarded a Commendation for his work in Neo Futuristic design in Architecture. During his education he also attended the USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles and Escape Studios in London studying Digital Set Design, Visual Effects and Animation.
His love for science fiction and high-tech architecture led him to working as a concept designer at Foster and Partners before going on to further explore media and architecture with renowned interactive design studios, Jason Bruges Studio and Cinimod Studio. Amongst numerous awards for Mizzi Studio's projects, Jonathan Mizzi was named FX International Design Awards Breakthrough Talent in 2017. Jonathan founded Mizzi Studio in 2011 fusing design, architecture, and art in to one holistic workspace.
Matthew studied automotive design at Coventry University and has worked with leading names such as Jaguar. He moved to China as a product designer before joining Mizzi Studio in 2013. He's since worked on many high-profile projects from interiors to robots, branding and more. Matthew has a self-declared weakness for 70s Russian sci-fi cinema. He's also a one man rhythm section, playing both drums and bass.
Silvia studied product, interior and lighting design at the Politecnico di Milano and worked at Artemide Studio Carlotta de Bevilaqua in Milan before moving to London to work with Jake Phipps, and eventually Mizzi Studio. She has worked on prominent projects such as the Colicci Cafe in Dulwich and the Helical staircase, amongst others. When she's not designing, Silvia's likely to be travelling, hanging out with her nephew, or eating pizza.
Alexandra studied Architecture & Civil Engineering at the University of Malta, where her specialisms included restoration and concrete technology. Before joining Mizzi Studio, where she manages our projects on the ground, Alexandra worked for one of Malta’s largest architectural firms, QP. In her down time, Alexandra enjoys travelling and can be found on the beach or up a mountain. She recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.
Ashwini is a spatial designer with a BDes in Interior Design from the Centre for Environmental Planning & Technology in India, and an MSc from the Architectural Association in London. Before joining Mizzi Studio in 2017, Ashwini worked at Atmos Studio and at the AA Digital Prototyping Lab. She now works on projects of various scales from product to architecture. She's also known to be the studio's most avid table tennis player.
Jo-Marie studied Three Dimensional & Spatial Design at the Institute of Creative Arts at MCAST (Malta College of Arts Science and Technology) and has a passion for capturing and creating beautiful spaces. When she is not creating the 3D visuals for Mizzi Studio's projects, she is planning her next adventure abroad.
Tania has a retail and fashion background with an MA in Strategic Fashion Marketing from the London Business School. She has worked as a consultant for designers for over a decade. She opened a fashion store in London in 2000 and has shown collections at Fashion Weeks in London, Milan, Paris and Sydney. Tania keeps the cogs moving at Mizzi Studio, and oversees tenders and planning. On her down time she's all about trendspotting.
Lisa holds a BA in Art History from the University of Nottingham. Before joining Mizzi Studio, she worked at the cultural communications agency Sutton PR and the publisher Phaidon. Outside of the studio, she enjoys exploring new cities, going to galleries and pointing a camera at the places she visits. You can contact Lisa for all press and media enquiries.
