Maltese-British architect and designer, Jonathan Mizzi, is the Founding Director of Mizzi Studio.
He trained at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL where he was awarded a Commendation for his work in Neo Futuristic design in Architecture, and also studied Digital Set Design, Visual Effects and Animation at the USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles and Escape Studios in London.
Prior to founding Mizzi Studio in 2011, he worked as a concept designer at Foster + Partners and gained experience in interactive design at Jason Bruges Studio and Cinimod Studio.
Matthew Chilton, Associate Designer
Matthew studied automotive design at Coventry University and has worked with leading names such as Jaguar. He moved to China as a product designer before joining Mizzi Studio in 2013. He has led projects ranging from a sculpture of a ship's hull to an AI robot and, most recently, the design of a family of new kiosks for London's Royal Parks. Matthew has a self-declared weakness for 70s Russian sci-fi cinema. He's also a one man rhythm section, playing both drums and bass.
Silvia Zanolini, Senior Designer
Silvia studied product, interior and lighting design at the Politecnico di Milano and worked at Artemide Studio Carlotta de Bevilaqua in Milan before moving to London to work with Jake Phipps, and eventually Mizzi Studio. She has worked on prominent projects including the Dulwich Clock Café and the Helical staircase. When she's not designing, Silvia's likely to be travelling, hanging out with her nephew, or eating pizza.
Alexandra Manche, Project Architect
Alexandra studied Architecture & Civil Engineering at the University of Malta. Before joining Mizzi Studio, where she manages our projects on the ground, Alexandra worked for one of Malta’s largest architectural firms, QP. In her down time, Alexandra enjoys travelling and can often be found on the beach or up a mountain. She counts climbing Mount Kilimanjaro among her recent achievements.
Ashwini Ashokkumar, Architectural Designer
Ashwini is a spatial designer with a BDes in Interior Design from the Centre for Environmental Planning & Technology in India, and an MSc from the Architectural Association in London. Before joining Mizzi Studio in 2017, Ashwini worked at Atmos Studio and at the AA Digital Prototyping Lab. She now works on projects of various scales from product to architecture. She's also known to be the studio's most avid table tennis player.
Jomarie Mayo, 3D Designer
Jo-Marie studied Three Dimensional & Spatial Design at the Institute of Creative Arts at MCAST (Malta College of Arts Science and Technology) and has a passion for capturing and creating beautiful spaces. When she is not creating the 3D visuals for Mizzi Studio's projects, she is planning her next adventure abroad.
Tania Martin, Creative Strategist
Tania has a retail and fashion background with an MA in Strategic Fashion Marketing from the London Business School. She has worked as a consultant for designers for over a decade. She opened a fashion store in London in 2000 and has shown collections at Fashion Weeks in London, Milan, Paris and Sydney. Tania keeps the cogs moving at Mizzi Studio, and oversees tenders and planning. On her down time she's all about trend spotting.
Lisa Hill, Communications Manager
Lisa studied Art History at the University of Nottingham. Before joining Mizzi Studio, she worked at the cultural communications agency Sutton PR and the publisher Phaidon. Outside of the studio, she enjoys going to galleries, exploring new cities and pointing a camera at the places she visits. You can contact Lisa for all press and media enquiries.
