Our Story

Since launching in 2011, Mizzi Studio has grown into a fully-fledged team with offices in London and Malta, a diverse portfolio of clients, and award-winning projects ranging from architecture to industrial design, lighting, interactive design and commercial artworks. Being recently named FX International Breakthrough Talent 2017, our work has been recognised for bringing sculptural and engaging architecture to life in industry sectors such as retail, hospitality, office, food and beverage, education and public realm. Ongoing research is a central driver in our studio, allowing us to reject cynicism on all counts and sustain our philosophy that “nothing is impossible”. We are captivated with the notion of producing progressive and beautiful design. Each project has its own life, inspirations and aspirations, and much of our signature work involves an element of futuristic, organic-inspired and kinetic-interactive design; accentuated by technology and luminosity to create experiential and inventive results.

About Jonathan Mizzi

Mizzi Studio prides itself on its lateral thinking and forward-looking approach to all its projects. Innovation is the life-blood of the studio’s work ethos, and it all begins with Jonathan Mizzi’s direction and original point-of-view. Jonathan qualified as an architect at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL where he was awarded a Commendation for his work in neo-futuristic design in Architecture. During his education he also attended the USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles and Escape Studios in London studying Digital Set Design, Visual Effects and Animation. His unique digital skill set, as well as a love for science fiction and high-tech architecture, led him to work as a lead concept designer at Foster & Partners where he worked on £1M+ proposals before going on to further explore media and architecture with renowned interactive design studios, Jason Bruges Studio and Cinimod Studio where he was a lead designer in creating brands such as Snog.

Jonathan founded Mizzi Studio in 2011 fusing design, architecture, and art into one holistic workspace. He is passionate and serious about creating unforgettable design moments, and making an impact on the art and design industry. His ambition to convert practical ideas into sweeping, engaging forms in every project his studio pursues makes him stand out as a designer and as a strategic leader. Jonathan has worked hard to ensure that his studio is not a box-ticking operation, that its work is an extension of the team that make it up – positive, imaginative individuals looking to create masterpieces out of every client’s brief.
